A New Perspective and Lasting Hope
Scripture: Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
Life has a way of testing our perspective.
When challenges arise, it is easy to focus on what is immediately in front of us—pain, uncertainty, disappointment, or unanswered prayers. In those moments, we may wonder whether God is still at work. Yet Romans 8:28 offers a powerful reminder: God is working even when we cannot see it.
Notice that Paul does not say all things are good. Scripture never ignores suffering or hardship. Instead, he assures believers that God is able to work through every circumstance for His greater purpose.
God’s perspective is far greater than ours. We often see only the struggle of the moment, while He sees the complete picture. Like a master artist, He is weaving together every detail of our lives into something beautiful, even when the process feels confusing or painful.
Joseph’s life is a powerful example. Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and imprisoned unjustly, he had every reason to lose hope. Yet years later he could say, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” What appeared to be tragedy became part of God’s plan to save many lives.
The same is true for us.
Perhaps today you are carrying burdens that feel overwhelming. Maybe you are waiting for answers, healing, restoration, or direction. Romans 8:28 reminds us that God has not forgotten you. He is still working, still guiding, and still accomplishing His purposes.
Often God’s greatest work happens within us before it happens around us. Trials strengthen faith. Waiting teaches trust. Difficult seasons deepen our dependence on Him. While we may wish for immediate relief, God is often using present challenges to shape us into the image of Christ.
This truth invites us to shift our focus. Instead of asking, “Why is this happening?” we can ask, “Lord, what are You teaching me through this?”
When we trust God’s character, peace begins to replace fear. Hope rises above discouragement. We gain confidence that our story is not defined by today’s circumstances but by God’s eternal purpose.
Whatever burden you carry today, place it in His hands. Trust that He is faithful, that His plans are good, and that nothing surrendered to Him is ever wasted.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, when my struggles feel heavy, help me trust that You are working all things together for good. Lift my eyes above my circumstances and remind me of Your faithfulness. Replace fear with peace, doubt with faith, and discouragement with hope. Teach me to rest in Your promises and trust Your perfect plan. Thank You for never wasting a moment of my life and for continually working for Your glory and my good. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
